Civil War Exploration

What was life like for a Civil War soldier?  This is what students had to determine.  Each group was given an item that Civil War soldiers had to use during this time. They then had to decide what they thought the items were used for, how they worked, what the different parts were, etc.  Once they were finished, students shared their thoughts with the class.  We then discussed what the items actually were and how the soldiers used these items.  Many of the groups were very close in their guesses.  We are excited to see much of the history we have learned this week come to life at our field trip to Conner Prairie next week!
