Don't Read Like a Robot

During reading this week we worked on reading fluency.  Each day we learned about a specific part of reading fluency (speed, phrasing, and expression) and then practiced that specific skill with partners and in our reading groups.  One activity the students really enjoyed was reading our ABC's with lots of expression (ask your child about this).  The students also practiced reading funny poems and their book buddy books fluently to each other.  Ask your child to share what they learned about fluency.  Also have them read to you like a skateboard (they know what this means).  :)
